Joshua Parkhurst Is The President Of The Jersey City
The justice system is so often portrayed as inefficient or corrupt. The fact is, though, that every time the employee doesn’t receive his just compensation, every time a labor union feels disenchanted, they goto the justice system with their problems. When individuals are oppressed they look to lawyers and courts for salvation—and rightly so. In the United States we have a tradition of the justice system standing up for…just that: Justice. Joshua Parkhurst is indicative of that American tradition of lawyers who battle injustice using the justice system.
Parkhurst was an undergraduate at the University of Chicago where he got his B.S. In Public Policy in 1993. He then went to New York University’s Law School to attain a J.D., which he received in 1996. He was also Legal Theory Editor at the Review of Law and Social Change. In 1997 he was admitted to the New York Bar. He is now an associate at Cary Kane LLP, a highly respected law firm in New York. In this positions he works on behalf of, and represents, individual employees, labor unions, and employee benefit funds. Additionally, Joshua Parkhurst is the president of the Jersey City Landmarks Conservancy. This is a non-profit that takes action to conserve historic areas and structures in Jersey City. Obviously Parkhurst has a heart for protecting the downtrodden, whether it is people or buildings.
